Schwarz Etienne 1902 Réserve de Marche Gold 4N (WCL39RDMMSE34TIALBCLA)

The Réserve de Marche is the hand-wound piece in the 1902 collection, and the one that asks to be looked at from the back. The case is Grade 5 titanium, 39mm across and 10.9mm deep, polished at the bezel and satin-brushed along the lugs and flanks, with anti-reflective sapphire front and back and fifty metres of water resistance.

The dial is treated in 4N gold, warm against the cool of the case. A finely grained centre carries polished rhodium-plated indexes, the power reserve indicator sits in the upper right quadrant over a spiral-patterned ground, and the small seconds at six take a snailed finish inside a diamond-cut ring. Behind it runs the MSE 311.00, wound by hand and drawing on two barrels rather than one. The power reserve is one hundred and twenty hours, which is five days from a single winding. The mainplate is sandblasted and rhodium treated, the bridges laid with straight Côtes de Genève, and the ratchet wheels finished with a diamond drop. On a brown alligator strap with a rubber lining and a Grade 5 titanium pin buckle.
