Schwarz Etienne Roma Geometry Black (WROGEOMA01SSVEBCLTD)

The Geometry takes the Roma dial apart and puts it back together in four quadrants, each given a different treatment: fluted lines, azuré, clous de Paris and a finely sandblasted minute track, with the small seconds recessed at six. The dial is 18ct gold and the guilloché is worked by hand, so no two quadrants meet without a change of texture. The design is Eric Giroud's.

The Black takes that dial into shadow, the gold treated black so the pattern reads through relief and light rather than colour. The movement follows the dial: the ASE 200.02 with a black mainplate and bridges, its micro-rotor in deep sandblasted black and satin grey with polished angles, set in a sandblasted black PVD frame. The power reserve is eighty-six hours. The case is stainless steel, 39mm across and 11mm deep, under domed anti-reflective sapphire. On an aged calfskin strap with a black lining and a stainless steel folding buckle. Limited to one hundred pieces.
